What drives you to be better?
Why even try?
Have you considered why some people are considered great and others not even considered?
What makes our day good or great?
For me, I am totally invested in goal setting and seeing improvements.
I love the buzz of looking back at goals and seeing them ticked off.
I love seeing people achieve their goals, perhaps that's why I spent the majority of my career in the Fitness Industry.
What excites you?
What goals have you ticked off?
What makes you smile?
I believe there is great value in answering these questions... write them down, take the time for your mind, will and emotions to invest in your answers.
Goals need not be huge, but they can be...
I suggest writing down your goals in small, manageable chunks and setting a strict timeframe to get them done by. Days are good, weeks too, calendar months make sense. I suggest not longer than that as they soon turn into pipe dreams that call for no action, just a wistful "some day" approach.
Is there pictures that goal with your goal? Is there a tangible experience you can undertake to get your goal?
I'll share a quick story, I had this sales person who worked for me in Burnside and she wanted a new motor bike, being an avid motor bike fan too we came up with the idea for goal setting to visit the motor bike store and look for bikes. Quickly she found 'the one' she looked at it, it was the right colour, the right make, the right feel. She sat on it, imagined cruising through the hills and it being hers. The motor bike sale's person gave her a brochure and discussed finance options, she could see it, taste it, feel it. After the visit she was determined to get that bike. We sat down and worked out how much money she needed, how much she would need to save per month we then worked backwards to determine how much sales commission she needed to achieve her goal. She was invested and committed and soon she was driving her new bike and there was more to come.
What's your goal? Your compelling reason to achieve? Perhaps it's your team involvement, kids, family, personal endeavour.. take it and use it. Go and grab it, it's your for the taking.
What make you better?
